Blue Magic and Hard heads

The Blue/Green Goo...

Blue Magic Conditioner/Hair Dress is formulated to give effective hair conditioning for days without being greasy. Keeps hair natural and lustrous. Promotes a healthier hair and scalp condition. Use as often as you like.

That's what it says in the description on some hair product websites. Now I'm assuming that most people who have ever stumbled across my hair ramblings know what Blue Magic is, but those of you who don't, let me try to explain...

This, my friends, is Blue Magic. It's not always blue, it comes in a multitude of colours, and where your hair is concerned, it is anything but magical. Maybe it has other uses like Crisco. In America, people used to use Crisco for EVERYTHING from rusty doors, to burns, to frying chicken. So I could be wrong, maybe Blue Magic has some ingredients that might make is useful for some other area of your life.

For your hair, this is NOT great stuff. A lot of us grew up slabbing this nonsense on our scalps, on braids, on baby hair, after washing, before blow drying, before hot-combing, before and after relaxing, and I'm pretty sure there are a lot of us with a lot less hair as a result.

It smells horrible, it coats there hair which means you're blocking any added moisture you might put in.

It's greasy, and it makes the hair greasy and greasy hair tangles and breaks.

The "hard hair" people often talk of more often than not is just dry, brittle hair. These petroleum products are really drying. So if you want "soft hair", invest in a good moisturiser/leave in conditioner.

I could go on, and I may still add to this mini rant when I think of more horrible things to say about this nonsense.

I'll end by saying PLEASE, if you're still using Blue Magic and complaining that your hair won't grow, or it's breaking..... STOP!
